THAILAND SUFFER HEAVY DEFEAT AT HANDS OF UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

Thailand were heavily beaten by the United Arab Emirates in their fourth match in the ICC T20 World Cup Asia B Qualifier in Qatar as they could score only 37 in reply to a total of 192 for 7 to lose by 155 runs.

United Arab Emirates are the highest ranked team in the tournament as they stand in 16th place in the world rankings and the gulf in class was clear as Rahul Chopra raced to 80 from 51 balls as UAE scored at a rate of 9.60 in their 20 overs.

Thailand were in trouble from the start of their reply as they were reduced to 16 for 5 in the six-over powerplay and they were bowled out for 37 in 12.2 overs. Thailand have now won two and lost two in this tournament while UAE have won all four of their matches with all teams playing a total of six matches in the tournament.
