Thailand Women will take part in the Global Qualifier for the T20 World Cup after beating Nepal by 46 runs in the semi-finals of the Asia Qualifier in Kuala Lumpur.
Asked to bat first Thailand lost a wicket in the first over and were held to eight runs in the first five overs thanks to an excellent opening spell from Kabita Kunwar.
Nannapat Khoncharoenkai and Natthakan Chantham batted steadily to reach 31 after 10 overs before the acceleration brought 74 in the next ten overs.
Nannapat reached her second successive fifty in the 20th over as Thailand made a final total of 105 for 2.
The hard work with the bat soon looked worth it as Nepal lost three wickets for three runs in their first 10 balls.
Off-spinner Nattaya Boochatham took a wicket and Thipatcha Putthawong took two wickets with her slow left-arm.
Thipatcha returned to take the final wicket as Nepal were bowled out for 59 in 19.3 overs as she finished with 3 for 5.
Thailand reached the final of the Asia Qualifier and have now made it to the Global Qualifier six times out of six. They will now be hoping to qualify for the T20 World Cup for the second time
