SHARNE MAYERS HITS 71* TO TAKE ZIMBABWE TO VICTORY

Zimbabwe Women have taken a 1-0 lead in the T20I series thanks to a magnificent unbeaten 71 from 67 balls from opener Sharne Mayers.

Zimbabwe reached a total of 144 for 4 in their 20 overs as they quickly adapted to the demands of T20 cricket.

Thailand made a good start to their innings and we’re up with the required rate when Nannapat Khoncharoenkai was out for 29 in the 9th over but wickets fell regularly and Thailand reached 119 for 9.

Zimbabwe had won by 24 runs with Audrey Mazvishaya taking 4 for 27. Zimbabwe had beaten Thailand twice in Abu Dhabi to finish third in the T20 World Cup Qualifier so this is effectively a series between 11th and 12th in the world. Sent from my iPhone
