THAILAND WOMEN OUTCLASSED BY BANGLADESH
Thailand were beaten by 178 runs by Bangladesh in their first match in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier in Lahore.
Although they had won eight out of nine of their previous official ODIs this was their first contest since July 2023 while Bangladesh had been playing 50 over cricket regularly in the ICC Women’s Championship
It was an outstanding performance from Bangladesh as captain Nigar Sultana hit a century from 78 balls and spinners Fahima Khatun and Jannatul Ferdus took five wickets apiece.
Bangladesh made their highest ODI total of 271 for 3 and Thailand were dismissed for 93 their lowest total in ODIs.
Thailand face Scotland in their next match on Saturday and will be hoping for a much improved performance.
