THAILAND GAIN THIRD WIN AS THEY BEAT BHUTAN BY 7 RUNS
Thailand were back to winning ways in the ICC T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier B in Qatar as they defeated Bhutan by 7 runs as 51 from Ranjung Dorji took Bhutan close to victory after recovering from 20 for 3.
Thailand looked on course for a big score as they reached 50 with only one wicket down as Akshaykumar Yadav made 30 from 23 balls with 5 boundaries. In the end it was only thanks to an unbeaten 33 from 36 balls from Nitish Salekar that took Thailand to 117 for 5 in their 20 overs.
Salekar then took two early wickets to rock Bhutan and Nopphon Senamontree again bowled beautifully to concede only eight runs in his four overs. Thailand were well on top but Dorji launched a counter attack so that he reached fifty at the start of the last over. Thailand held their nerve with two run outs and they won their third match out of five.
