Everything went according to plan at Kinrara Oval as Thailand beat Myanmar by nine wickets in their first match at the SEA Games.
Opening bowlers Wanchana Uisuk and Chanchai Pengkumta took a wicket apiece and the spinners did all the rest sharing eight wickets. Captain Noppon Senamontree took 2 for 13 and fellow left-arm spinner Vichanath Singh went one better with 3 for 18. Payuputh Sungnard finished things off with 3 for 13 as Myanmar were bowled out for 61.
Wanchana Uisuk hit three boundaries before he was out for 16 but Bunchuai Sombatraska was determined to bat through the innings. He was unbeaten on 16 from 44 balls and Sungnard finished on the same score as he hit the winning runs. Thailand will be full of confidence when they face Malaysia on Friday.
