Pakistani “Boom Boom” star Shahid Afridi along with Mr. Ramiz Raja, one of Pakistan’s finest opening batsmen was here in Bangkok for a commercial and provided a few minutes to share his feelings and thoughts on cricket in Thailand and means of development.

“Play more and more games which will make your teams stronger,” said Mr. Ramiz. In addition he advised that CAT should increase more domestic and international tournaments to increase popularity and know-how of the game. “If they can take tours to other countries, it will be the best way to promote cricket and players.” As a message to Thai cricketers, Mr. Ramiz said “As it is a new sport for them, they need to understand the basics and focus on their practice sessions and also watch a lot of cricket games as you learn a lot by looking.”

Mr. Ramiz was thrilled to learn the amount of cricket being played in Thailand and how CAT is developing cricket in so many provinces building interest in ethnic populations. Mr. Ramiz suggested to get coaches from outside to increase the standards and further develop the national sides. Furthermore the local bodies and government will also gain more interest hence increasing support, opportunities and facilities around Thailand.

Having such stars present in Bangkok and the opportunities to interact with them was a great opportunity for CAT, further welcoming stars from all across the cricket world.
